Jamiesha is a Meanjin based band that draws inspiration from their Indigenous roots in the Barkindji nation and Western Samoa. Their music is a unique fusion of pop, rock, hip hop, and soul, embodying a celebration of culture, pride, and protest.
From the upbeat rhythms of their hip hop songs to the soulful melodies of their ballads, Jamiesha's music is an expression of their identity and their determination to make a positive impact on the world, inspiring audiences to embrace their own heritage and to stand proud in what they believe in.

Jamiesha was born from the husband and wife duo of James & Aniesha, and has since grown into a 5 piece group which includes their 17 year old son Mone and Aniesha's younger brother Gling. The group is a mixed bag of Barkindji & Western Samoan bloodlines. Their debut single "Until We're Free" made waves in the music industry, entering the 2019 Global Music Awards and winning the Bronze Medal in three categories: Emerging Artist, Song, & Protest Music. Additionally, the band took out first place in the Open category at the Australian Songwriter's Association nationwide competition in 2021, making them the first Indigenous band to do so. In 2023, Aniesha participated in the AIR Women In Music Mentorship program under the tutelage of Tania Doko (Bachelor Girl). Jamiesha has performed at a variety of events in South-East QLD, including Northey St. Winter Solstice Festival, Fam Jam, Musgrave Park Family Fun Day, & The Gathering in Brisbane's Queen St. Mall. They also co hosted Blak Christmas in 2023 and 2024 with Gling, Jungaji, & LANGWIJ (formerly The Eatles) at The Cave Inn, which was a huge success attended by both punters and music industry professionals, and headlined “I’ll Never Stop” at Studio 188 in 2025
Their second single "Bloodshed", which was released in 2024 focuses on mental health. As the front woman of the band, Aniesha places great value in writing songs about issues that are near to her heart. The state of mental health in this country, particularly in Blak communities, is one that she hopes to address and let others know they're not alone. Bloodshed was also nominated for a QMA (Queensland Music Award) in 2025 in the Hip Hop category.
